The writer and performer of two off-Broadway shows, she was a regular on The View, and an Emmy-winning writer and producer for Rosie O'Donnell. All very impressive. But what I like about her: she is an anthropologist of post-war suburban Jewish life - my life, the world I grew up in - which she observes acutely, like a perverse Margaret Mead, and then reproduces on stage, full of rage, full of pain, and very very funny.
